new tv's.. a pain in the you know what!

So we got a hefty refund from our taxes this year and decided to splurge and by a big flat screen. I didnt know it was gonna be so much trouble, or I would have happily kept the old 32 inch analog tv we had.
Anyway after shopping around for what seemed like eternity my husband decides to go buy the tv without me.
He comes home with this46 inch sanyo...not that sanyo is the worse brand but its definitely not the best.
It was like $75 dollars cheaper was his answer to my question "why didnt you get a better tv with a better picture?).
SO now we have this ok to mediocre tv sitting against the wall in our living room because guess who didnt buy a stand...
How smart huh?
Well Ive been looking online at tv stands and I wasnt aware of how expensive they were. Some of these stands cost more than half of the tv! What are they charging you for? Alot of these stands are flimsy or made with very little material. especially the new style that allows you to "hang" your tv.
I finally found one that was suitable at Target. (Boy how I love that place) I just sent my husband to go get it. It'll be interesting to see what he comes home with. :-)

Lets try this again

Okay it been over a year. I totally forgot I had even started a blog! I guess now that I know the least I can do is write in here sometimes.
Seems like now-a-days thats the story of my life. I have these great moments when an idea flashes through my head and I get a bolt of energy and I swear on everything that this is it! This is what Im gonna do. Be it write a blog, write a book, start a home business, hell mop the floor...seems like I get through the first say...5% and then it happens. It being nothing!
Well here we go again! This is it! Im gonna blog! They say never quit quitting!

Devils advocate_ Lori Drew

Playing the devils advocate.
What Lori did was wrong, but she did not do it knowing that it would cause Megan to take her life.
C'mon now.
If teenagers killed themselves(adults even) everytime someone said something mean we would have a population of zero.
If it would have been two teenagers what would be the real difference? Megan still would have committed suicide. So are you mad at the death of the child, or the lack of judgement of the adult?
Lack of judgement itself is not a crime. Saying "the world would be better without you " is not a crime. Who's to say that the statement wasn't true? NOT THAT I AGREE, but maybe the world is better off...who knows for certain who the world could stand to do without my self included. One thing is for certain. Megan's parents suffered a loss but they did not do their best in preventing the situation. They obviously did not instill enough self worth or intelligence in the child. Whatever happened to the old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words'll never hurt me"? Ok maybe words will hurt but that just a part of life. Deal with it and move on. I can remember being 11,12,13... and being called everything under the sun! I can remember more than one occasion where someone told me they wished I was dead or they were gonna kill me, and even some occasions where I was saying something like that to someone else.Did I kill myself? No! Know why... goes back to the sticks and stone thing. Goes back to parents stepping in when they see something terribly wrong going on. Goes back to being taught self worth. Her parents were supposedly monitoring her Internet use. They knew she was on myspace underage (you have to be at least 14)...they had to... no they should have noticed her changing mood...then they should have put a stop to it themselves. I don't want to put all the blame on them but c'mon when are we gonna start being real Parents and take control of our children and really protect them?
A law banning internet bullying is an idea...not a good one. Are we gonna ban playgrould bullies? How about on the job? over the phone? Are we gonna pass a law that everyone smile and only say nice things? Be real. As humans we are mean by nature. We need to be thick skinned as well. To know that our lives are more valuable than the way anybody else feels or doesn't feel about it. And ultimately to teach this to our children.
Its really dis-heartening to read all the blogs and comments condemning the Drew's to death, exposing their personal information and what not. Considering you are doing the same thing you are accusing her of. Hypocrites to say the least.
And to Lori...you ought to be ashamed of yourself. As I suspect you are. Too bad the only sight that is truly 20/20 is hindsight.
To Megan's parents My deepest sympathy to you for your loss. Hopefully someone will learn something so it was not in vain.
